Expertise: Mechanical engineering/applied physics.
Over 20 years of full time experience of forensic investigation into the circumstances and causes of collisions, failures, accidents and engineering related problems.
Investigations have generally involved some or all of: site visits, examinations of vehicles, components and equipment, appropriate liaison with involved parties, detailed consideration of documents, photographs and video recordings/CCTV footage, research, calculations, analysis and tests.
My work has generally involved some or all of: initial advice /comment, in-depth reporting with detailed illustrations, conference with Counsel, preparation of Experts’ Joint Statement and presenting evidence in Court.
Experienced in Civil claims, Criminal cases and as a single joint expert. I have appeared as an Expert Witness in Court, arbitration/mediation proceedings or similar on at least 50 occasions.
Particular areas of Expert Witness experience:
• Road traffic collisions
• Failure of mechanical engineering components/equipment.
• Failures and incidents involving cranes, lifting equipment and general plant.
• Escapes of water, plumbing and Building Services failures
• Reporting upon the engineering and physics aspects of incidents that have led to injury, fatality or financial loss.
